After experiencing burn trauma, our founder, Shani, discovered the transformative power of the desert—most importantly from Rock Rose, a resilient desert shrub that reemerges stronger after wildfire. In this harsh landscape, where plants don't just survive but thrive, Shani found that both inner and outer vibrancy could be restored. This experience sparked the creation of Ayond, where desert self-care rituals lead to transformative levels of vitality and vibrancy, no matter your life stage.

We believe the skin and mind are deeply connected. When we nurture the body from within, we can transform not only the skin but our entire state of being.

Together they channeled their shared appreciation of healing desert botanicals into clean and clinically proven skincare that transforms your daily routine into a sensorial oasis.

Shani van Breukelen is an African American and Dutch fashion alumni from Central Saint Martins and Porter Yates, born in Santa Fe, NM studied mechanical engineering with a focus in sustainability. The pair founded AYOND in 2018.
